Where did the Founding Fathers of the US Constitution derive the quote “Government of the people, by the people, for the people”?

Also, is America originally a Christian Nation in the sense of the majority of its citizens and its foundations?

First – where this famous saying came from…

The Prologue to Wycliffe Translation of the Holy Bible, written in the year 1384  said:

“The Bible is for the Government of the people, by the people, and for the people”

That should answer the second question as well.
