God had a divine purpose in placing this land between two great oceans to be found by those who had special love of freedom and courage.

- Ronald Reagan

A quick comment:

A while back, Ronald Reagan passed away. His charisma and beliefs have had a profound effect on history. Yet his strength is that he realized that what we’d considered self-achieved and self-wrought was actually made to be all along…was actually divine by design and purpose.

It is because of how things transpired when America became a nation that the world is still in order and that the timetable of end-times has not yet played out.

The end of the world is as certain as every other prophecy that has come true in the bible, such as the coming of the messiah the first time when he died on a cross rather than come as a king, as the second time around will prove, though not before a great and startling, terrible counterfeit to be sure.

Yet even so, we may necessarily be entirely privy of this divine purpose and therefore should not be to sure of ourselves or our own purpose.

As quick as we came, we can be gone…and there will then be an exceeding rush of chaos to fill this void of good.

What to do with this quote:

The pint of this quote is not to find self satisfaction or aggrandizement but instead to realize divine purposed are great and in control and are not necessarily known or understood.

Nevertheless they should be acknowledged and respected and the big picture can be appreciated with sincerity and hope.

With all due respect…

This is a statement that allows us to be a bit dissenting and insubordinate in a good way for good reason without coming across that way. It allows us to speak freely when we otherwise may have no other way to do so.

People in the military often use this as a way to get their word in that otherwise they may never have been able to…it would otherwise appear disrespectful.

So the qualifier “with all due respect” is used. Reader’s digest recently labeled this as one of the 10 most irritating phrases in English but I disagree. Again, this is an example of an “out” for saying something we otherwise might not be able to say – but for something that indeed needs to be said.

Reader’s Digest recently said this was one of the most irritating English phrases but I disagree. Why would they say that? Thoughts?

I think saying ‘I personally” allows us to say things which we feel strongly about without coming across as trying to proselytize others or influence them when we really are trying to do so.

Using “I personally” is a way for us to say something directly, indirectly! I’m glad we have such a tool in the English language to do so.
