Ever had a boss who doesn’t compliment you much or say too many good things, but is the first to point out your faults, mistakes and the bad stuff?

Ever go through several days or even weeks without hearing anything good or bad?  Well, then cheer up…because…

No news is good news with these kinds of people!  Yes, the fact is most bosses I’ve dealt with seem to take this approach.  It’s not that they mean to be thoughtless or indifferent…just that they just don’t remember nor often have the actual time to think to be positive.

I know…not the greatest leadership style or management trait…but also…here’s what is important:

You probably can’t change them
Determine if they’re a “no news is good news” kind of person
If they are…better that you don’t hear anything than hear something negative!

Hey, I’m just trying to cheer you up and light a candle in all of this darkness, ok!  Not bad for a pessimist who usually sees the glass half empty instead of half full!
